Mission Accomplished?
On the four year anniversary of 'Mission Accomplished,' Bush just vetoed the Congressional Bill to fund the troops because it contains a schedule for withdrawing them from Iraq. He wants the money... but how dare Congress (and heaven forbid, the people) issue any restrictions?
That money is already earmarked for contractors: the KBR guys, the same ones who blow up their trucks and just order a new one from the U.S. government any time there is a flat tire.
Meanwhile, troop deployment has been extended to 15 months and Iraq is crawling with American mercenaries, accountable to no one (again, on the taxpayers' dime.) These guys are loving this war. This war is making a lot of neocons very very rich.
Nice job Mr. Bush. Perhaps you were right about 'mission accomplished' - you just neglected to tell the rest of us what the 'mission' really was.
