What hate has wrought

Senator McCain and Sarah Palin: look upon your creation. This is your hate-child; the viper you have raised in the heart of America.

ATF disrupts skinhead plot to assassinate Obama

WASHINGTON (AP) -- Federal agents have broken up a plot to assassinate Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama and shoot or decapitate 102 black people in a Tennessee murder spree, the ATF said Monday.

In court records unsealed Monday, federal agents said they disrupted plans to rob a gun store and target a predominantly African-American high school by two neo-Nazi skinheads. Agents said the skinheads did not identify the school by name.

Jim Cavanaugh, special agent in charge of the Nashville field office for the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, said the two men planned to shoot 88 black people and decapitate another 14. The numbers 88 and 14 are symbolic in the white supremacist community.

Great job guys!

Mr. O'Reilly: Didn't 'hate radio' also spawn the Rwanda massacres...? Mr. Savage and Mr. Hannity: do you really think that just because you're 'only talking,' you aren't inherently responsible for the murderous actions of those you are encouraging?

You're all part of a long, proud lineage of hate promoters. You're no different than the KKK or any other hate-promoting organization. Its a dangerous business... and sometimes your successes are rather bloody, aren't they?

Have fun trying to wash the blood of little children off of your hands.

Police found right-wing political books, brass knuckles, empty shotgun shell boxes and a handgun in the Powell home of a man who said he attacked a church in order to kill liberals "who are ruining the country," court records show.

Knoxville police Sunday evening searched the Levy Drive home of Jim David Adkisson after he allegedly entered the Tennessee Valley Unitarian Universalist Church and killed two people and wounded six others during the presentation of a children's musical. More...

Follow-up stories: Aaron Hall murder

There are two excellent follow-up stories, posted in the blog section of the Bloomington Alternative (our local, alternative paper that does the work 'other American journalists don't want to do.')

In an an exclusive interview with Denise Travers, Aaron Hall's mother (Martha Gumm,) details the search and unfolding horror of finally finding her son, in "A Mother's Grief."

A second story, also by Travers, details the official medical report on Aaron Hall's body, and the clues it provides to his death, in "Medical Examiner's Report on Aaron Hall."
