Let every American, every lover of liberty, every well wisher to his posterity, swear by the blood of the Revolution, never to violate in the least particular, the laws of the country; and never to tolerate their violation by others.

As the patriots of seventy-six did to the support of the Declaration of Independence, so to the support of the Constitution and Laws, let every American pledge his life, his property, and his sacred honor; let every man remember that to violate the law, is to trample on the blood of his father, and to tear the charter of his own, and his children's liberty.

Let reverence for the laws, be breathed by every American mother, to the lisping babe, that prattles on her lap; let it be taught in schools, in seminaries, and in colleges; let it be written in Primers, spelling books, and in Almanacs; let it be preached from the pulpit, proclaimed in legislative halls, and enforced in courts of justice. And, in short, let it become the political religion of the nation; and Let the old and the young, the rich and the poor, the grave and the gay, of all sexes and tongues, and colors and conditions, sacrifice unceasingly upon its altars.

While ever a state of feeling, such as this, shall universally, or even, very generally prevail throughout the nation, vain will be every effort, and fruitless every attempt, to subvert our national freedom.

Bill Moyers Journal: Tough talk on impeachment

BILL MOYERS JOURNAL | Impeachment Panel Excerpt | PBS

Every time I think I have seen 'the best Bill Moyers Journal ever,' he raises the bar in his next weekly installment. Last night's discussion of impeachment was so far above the setting of any previous bar that it is in a category all it's own: must see TV.

If you watch nothing else this week, nothing else at all... make sure you watch this. Every American should see it; every school should show it to every American gradeschooler and especially high school student. Every congressman and senator should watch and learn.

Impeachment: Cure for Constitutional Crisis

This discussion is about the heart and soul of our democracy, the balance between the three (not four) branches of our Federal government, about why Dick Cheney's idea of a 'unitary presidency' is destroying our Constitution and stealing our freedom as Americans. It should also serve as a dire warning. If we don't restore the executive branch to the limits and boundaries established (for our protection) by our forefathers, we will live forever, from here on, under dictatorship.

Moyers spoke at length with constitutional expert Bruce Fein, and John Nichols from 'The Nation' magazine on the merits of impeaching Dick Cheney and George Bush. I have included a YouTube video (above,) but the entire show can be seen on Bill Moyers web site, and the entire transcript as well as supporting documents are also available online.

Why Impeachment of Cheney/Bush Is NOT Something to Fear

I encourage you to watch the entire show, whether on television or via the web. Yes, it is that important.
